How might you benefit from a Vegetable Oil conversion?
With the price of diesel rising relentlessly and global demand for mineral oil set to increase further, Vegetable Oil is fast becoming the cost effective, environmentally friendly alternative. In 2007 HMRC scrapped the fuel duty on vegetable oil for use as a fuel substitute creating a real opportunity for vegetable oil to compete with diesel on economic.
At the heart of the system is the smart-veg computer control module. Packed with state-of-the-art electronics, the Control Module ensures complete trouble free vegetable oil motoring. Full power on self-test (POST) & continuous system fault diagnosis, prevention of premature switch over to veg oil, automatic switch over to SVO (if selected), audio & visual 'fail to flush' warning alarms. If fitted with the optional SVO full system status is displayed and auxiliary fuel tank level can be displayed via the led bar graph (requires fuel tank to be fitted with appropriate fuel sender). The heat exchanger unit re-heats the SVO via heat released from the vehicles radiator, thus reducing the viscosity of the oil density by thinning the glycerine content.
AAG offer a very efficient, high-performance system with prices starting at £1200 on standard models.
Buying vegetable oil in bulk is more expensive than the cheapest supermarket prices. Typically you pay between 40p and 50p per litre for fresh oil from a bulk supplier, in 20 litre containers, this price often includes delivery to your door.
